Elder James L. Cook II is the grandson of Administrative Assistant Samuel L. Jones, the founder of Greater Philadelphia Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. Elder Samuel Jones founded this church in 1970. He was the pastor and shepherd of the flock until his demise in 2005. In the same year, the mantle was passed to his son, Administrative Assistant Victor Jones, to carry on the legacy of this great church.
In 2016, Elder Victor Jones was led to pass the mantle to his nephew, Elder James L. Cook II.
Administrative Assistant Elder Victor Jones, went on to establish Greater Liberty Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C.
Under the guidance and leadership of Elder James L. Cook II, Greater Philadelphia has flourished and grown throughout the community.
Greater Philadelphia Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. is known as the community church because it gives back to the community and surrounding suburbs. Our church is built on a foundation of Faith and Love. The church’s motto is, “You are empowered by God to change the way you think; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13).
If you are seeking a sanctuary of praise and worship and the teaching of the Word of God, Greater Philadelphia Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. is for you. Here is where you will be greeted with love. You are welcome in our church to experience the power of God. You’ll receive your spiritual renewal and regeneration from the Lord. You don’t want to leave the same way that you came.
